Hello and Welcome this is the First of the four new groups I have an interest in for Anno 2070. This is one of the two new playable groups called the Artists. Artists are a relatively peaceful group in comparison to the hustle of Tycoons and the Eco-Frenzy of the Ecos. The concentrate on the beauty they can create and rely on some rather uncommon goods

The First Level - Craftsmen Craftsmen are the first obtainable level for Artists similar to Workers and Lab Assistants. They have one Food and One Drink Need as well as the Entertainment Need and Company Need.

  • Food: Fish
  • Drink: Coffee (Coffee Fertility) - 3x4 Building with 3, 2x3 fields
  • Entertainment: Art Gallery - 5x6 Building

Their first Energy Production is using Sound Waves, Sound Generators produce 50 Energy for the Island and require four fields each being a 3x3 and the building itself being 5x5 in size. They also have the Symphonic Tower a 3x3 building which decreases all needs for residents in the influence area by 15% (Overlapping applies).


Expanding Knowledge - Musicians Musicians are the next level up and similar to Tycoons and Ecos allow the construction of Tools after 1 Musician is settled. They have a secondary construction good as well as another food good and a Lifestyle Good as well as the Information Need.


  • Construction Good: Paint - Copper Mine + Iron Mine --> Hue Factory (3x5) --> Paint Center (4x4))
  • Food: Spicy Food - Durum Wheat Farm (3x3 with 6 2x2 Fields) --> Flour Mill (5x5) + Poultry Farm (4x4 with 4 3x6 Fields) + Vegetable Farm (4x4 with 3 2x4 Fields) --> Spicy Food Factory (5x6)
  • Lifestyle: Instruments - Copper Mine +Zinc Quarry (3x3 with 2 2x2 Fields) --> Brass Alloy Factory (5x4) --> Instrument Factory (3x4)
  • Information: Theatrical Center (7x8)

This level unlocks the first Production increasing Building which is the Golden Spotlight (4x5) which increases production by all buildings in influence range by 10%.


Daunting Productions - Actors Actors begin to have more complex Production lines as such I will be using table to describe some of them. Actors have new Construction Goods as well as the third Food Need, the second Drink Need and the Participation Need.


  • Construction Good: Silk - Silk Plantation (5x6 with 6 2x4 Fields) --> Silk Factory (6x6)
  • Food: Delights - Date Plantation (4x4 with 3 3x3 Fields), Fruit Plantation (3x3 with 8 2x2 Fields), Sweetner Factory (4x6), Dough Factory (6x6), Milkshake Factory (4x4), Pastry Bakery (5x4), Delights Factory (6x4)

  • Drink: Red Wine - Grape Plantation (5x5 with 8 2x7 Fields) --> Red Wine Fermenting Plant (6x7)
  • Participation: Orchestra Hall

Actors unlock the next Energy production for the Artists which is Laser Transfusion Generation Plant, this generates 220 Energy, is 8x8 with 11 3x3 Fields. They also unlock the Artistic Shipyard for creating Ships.


Masters of the Night - Masters of the Arts The fourth and final stage of Artists are the Masters of the Arts. They require three new lifestyles and each one is unlocked after 500 and 1000 of this population.


  • Lifestyle: Costumes - String Factory (5x4), Silver Mine (Mining Site), Decorative Ornaments Factory (6x6), Leather Pastures (6x5 with 7 4x5 fields), Tanning Plant (6x6), Costumes Facility (7x4)

  • Lifestyle: Ornamental Clay Figure Factory - Clay Mining Site (River Slot), Gem Mine (Mining Site), Light Clay Factory (4x5), Ornamental Clay Figure Factory (7x7)

Masters of the Arts have perfected their skills into these three buildings which enhance life. The first is the Relaxation Aromatherapy Center (River Slot) which when placed on a River Slot will decrease all needs for Residents on the island by 20%, however it also requires large amounts of energy. The next building is the 3rd Energy Production Plant known as the Masked Charade Factory (12x12), its power source... Unknown, produced energy... 600 Energy. The third and final Building gradually increases Influence with other factions which come within its influence area, best placed on the coast, it is called the Friendship Enhancement Projector Field (F.E.P.F) (10x8). Overlapping applies for the F.E.P.F. Lastly and most importantly is the Monument, the Hallowed Castle (15x15) a tribute to the old arts and paying respect to the departed it costs similarily to the other Monuments.[]

The Artists with a Voice - NPCs

The artists are not without their leaders these three have stepped up and taken these places.

Juan Millinito - A Calm and Assertive gentleman he is the Representative for the Cultural Heritage Organization, he offers artist based goods similar to Rufus Thorne or Yana Rodriguez do for the Tycoon and Ecos. He will be the primary generator of Artist Quests. He plays a Pivotal Role in the new storyline along with the Military Representative.

Mia Wens - A stern but friendly woman who's out there to show the world what the Artists are made of, she is determined to expand their influence among the sectors and will even settle on your islands. Be prepared however as she's not one to back down from a fight easily and will not give up until all is lost. She is also the Chief researcher for the Cultural Heritage Organization and will sell you related items for your islands and Ark. Lucius I. Evantalion - Calm and Friendly the young man who quickly found himself as the Founder for the Cultural Heritage Organization after experiencing doubt among Eco and Tech Faction life. He will enthuse you to construct the Hallowed Castle and after its completion will commend you on your work as well as give you difficult and arduous quests with rare rewards.
