Ascension Rights constitute the right of a residence to upgrade to the next tier. This right is automatically on by default, allowing the residence to upgrade once all "need" criteria have been met, such as food, drink, or information.

The rights of ascension can be manually managed per island by selecting any City Center on that island and selecting the button to deny ascension rights. By choosing to manually control ascension rights, all residences on a particular island, regardless of faction, are therefore manually controlled. For example, if one island contains a Tech community as well as an Eco community, by selecting an Eco city center and selecting to manually control ascension, the Tech community will also require manual control.

It is also possible to block or enable ascension rights to a particular class of population by selecting a Residence belonging to that class and selecting the button to deny ascension rights (which looks identical to the one on the city center).

Any residence which has met the criteria necessary to ascend will display a green upward arrow over the building if that particular class of residence has automatic ascension disabled. Select the building and use the ascension button to manually upgrade the building to the next tier. Upon upgrading, the residence will have additional needs to move to the next tier.

The city center's population tab will show you the total number of residences of each tier that are eligible for upgrade on that particular island. If you want to quickly upgrade a large number of residences at once, you can go to the population tab and click the up arrow next to the tier you'd like to upgrade. Every time you click on the arrow, a single residence of that class will upgrade. Note that the arrow will not appear if there are no houses eligible for upgrade.

As a residence upgrades to a higher tier, a small amount of goods is expended. This can be a small amount of tools, wood, glass or other resource. You will be unable to upgrade the residence until you have a sufficient supply of the required goods. If automatic ascension rights are on, the goods will automatically be used, assuming you have the available stock.

  • Worker - 100% Worker
  • Employee - 20% Worker, 80% Employee
  • Engineer - 20% Worker, 32% Employee, 48% Engineer
  • Executive - 20% Worker, 32% Employee, 28.8% Engineer, 19.2% Executive
  • Lab Assistant - 100% Lab Assistant
  • Researcher - 40% Lab Assistant, 60% Researcher
  • Genius - 40% Lab Assistant, 42% Researcher, 18% Geniuses

Minimal Requirements for Unlocking the next Population ClassEdit

Tycoon factionEdit

  • Worker - Satisfy Needs: Community (City Center), Food (Fish).
  • Employee - Satisfy Needs: Community (City Center), Activity (Casino), Drink (Liquor), Food (Fish). Minimum 144 Workers to unlock (18 Worker Houses). You will require minimum 1 Fishery and 1 Distillery.
  • Engineer - Satisfy Needs: Community (City Center), Activity (Casino), Information (Ministry of Truth), Food (Fish, Convenience Food), Drink (Liquor), Lifestyle (Plastics). Minimum 750 Employees to unlock (50 Employee Residences and minimum of 63 total Residences). You will require minimum 3 Fisheries, 3 Distilleries, 2 Convenience Food Factories and 2 Plastic Factories.
  • Executive - Satisfy Needs: Community (City Center), Activity (Casino), Information (Ministry of Truth), Participation (Financial Center), Food (Fish, Convenience Food, Luxury Meal), Drink (Liquor, Champagne) Lifestyle (Plastics), Minimum 1200 Engineers to unlock (48 Engineer Residences and minimum of 100 total Residences). You will require minimum 5 Fisheries, 6 Distilleries, 3 Convenience Food Factories, 2 Plastic Factories, 2 Wine Cellars and 2 Gourmet Factories.

Eco factionEdit

  • Worker - Satisfy Needs: Community (City Center), Food (Fish).
  • Employee - Satisfy Needs: Community (City Center), Activity (Concert Hall), Drink (Tea), Food (Fish). Minimum 144 Workers to unlock (18 Worker Houses). You will require minimum 1 Fishery and 1 Tea Plantation.
  • Engineer - Satisfy Needs: Community (City Center), Activity (Concert Hall), Information (Education Network), Food (Fish, Health Food), Drink (Tea), Lifestyle (Communicators). Minimum 750 Employees to unlock (50 Employee Residences and minimum of 63 total Residences). You will require minimum 3 Fisheries, 3 Tea Plantations, 2 Electronics Factories and 2 Health Food Factories.
  • Executive - Satisfy Needs: Community (City Center), Activity (Concert Hall), Information (Education Network), Participation (Congress Center), Food (Fish, Health Food, Pasta Dishes), Drink (Tea, Bio Drinks) Lifestyle (Communicators), Minimum 1200 Engineers to unlock (48 Engineer Residences and minimum of 100 total Residences). You will require minimum 5 Fisheries, 5 Tea Plantations, 3 Health Food Factories, 3 Electronics Factories, 2 Pasta Productions and 2 Bio Drink Factories.

Tech factionEdit

  • Lab Assistant - Satisfy Needs: Community (City Center), Food (Fish).
  • Researcher - Satisfy Needs: Community (City Center), Activity (Research Lab), Food (Fish, Functional Food), Drink (Functional Drinks). Minimum 150 Lab Assistants to unlock (30 Assistant's domiciles). You will require minimum 1 Fishery, 1 Functional Food Factory, 1 Energy Drink Factory.
  • Genius - Satisfy Needs: Community (City Center), Activity (Research Lab), Information (Information Center), Food (Fish, Functional Food), Drink (Functional Drinks, Immunity Drugs), Lifestyle (Neuroimplants). Minimum 1200 Researchers to unlock (40 Researcher's apartments and minimum of 67 total Residences). You will require minimum 2 Fisheries, 4 Functional Food Factories, 3 Energy Drink Factories, 3 Immunity Drug Manufactures, 2 Cybernetic Factories.
