Standard Model
EmeegeemeeAdded by Emeegeemee
When starting any game regardless of starting conditions, players are given an Ark. Arks cannot participate in combat, but they can relocate to pre-determined locations on the map (the relocate icon in upper right corner). The Ark has zero maintenance cost or energy requirements and has no effect on the ecobalance. When starting Anno 2070 you will have a standard Ark, but by earning career points and equipping it with upgrade modules in-game you can improve it's support role dramatically, and even choose its model and appearance. E.V.E, your trustworthy advisor is installed standard part of your Ark, and you are it's captain.

Ark FunctionalityEdit

  • The first tab on your Ark display is the Warehouse tab. It lists stored goods and up to four Express Delivery options.
  • Ark-storage and upgrades are both disabled in offline mode. In order to take advantage of the Ark's full functionality, the game must have an active connection to the Ubisoft servers.
  • Ark-storage functions just like an island Warehouse. Goods ordered from E.V.E. arrive in Ark-storage (ordered goods do not get stored during offline play, they are dropped in a crate in front of the Ark).
  • You can request weapons, building modules and tools from E.V.E in exchange for credits. Express delivery has a 20 minute cooldown and is significantly higher in cost than buying goods from NPCs.
  • The Ark's module slot and goods storage capacities can be expanded via reaching rank 4 and rank 7 in each faction's Career Progression.
  • When applicable, the Command Ship (3500 credits), the Ocean Glider (5000 credits) and the building rights to Eco, Tycoon and Tech (10000 credits) are all purchased on the Ark order tab in the upper left corner.
  • The second tab on the Ark display is the Upgrades Tab. Ark upgrades are activated by placing your Ark module into storage, switching to the Upgrades tab, selecting an appropriate 1-3 star row empty upgrade slot (shown with a green + symbol), then the desired module. The module tooltip will now read: This item is active at the moment, and the effects of the module will take effect immediately.
  • Upgrades equipped on the Ark this way will only be saved for the out-of-game Ark Configuration when done in Continuous Games created with the "Ark Storage" setting turned on.
  • Third and final is the Politics tab, which provides an overview to the current World Patron as determined by World Council votes, the active effects of the current Senate votes, and your available options of four World Council Actions.

Ark UpgradesEdit

There are three tiers of improvements you can get for your ark (rarity 1-3). You can have a total of three improvements of each rarity. In some cases, you will need career rank to be able to insert more upgrades. Typically, you start with three unlocked slots for upgrades with rarity rank 1, 2 open slots for upgrades with rarity rank 2, and 1 slot for rank 3 upgrades. These upgrades are items just like you use on vehicles and warehouses. You can easily see that it's an ark item if it has a red symbol in the corner, as opposed to blue for vehicles and yellow for warehouses.

These upgrades can be acquired by multiple means. Sometimes you can get them from doing expeditions with a coordinates item, you can get them from completing quests, buy them from third parties or you can research them in your academy. An easy (but cheap) way to obtain Ark upgrades is by playing a continuous game on the easiest setting without opponents and building a large number of academies in your tech city. The obtained upgrades can then be used in other, harder, games.

Equipping all sockets in the ark upgrade menu earns a achievement and the title Mad Scientist. This can be earned even before all sockets have been unlocked; just fill the sockets that are available to you.

  • can u store goods in the ark?

    • Yes, and items. If the Ark Storage is turned on, you can even carry them to other games.

  • can u store goods in the ark?

  • How Exactly do i save the items in my Ark for another game? At the end of the first scenario (the one where you have to get to 2500 Executives) i stuffed it with some items for the next game. Now i started an endless game but the Ark is empty and has no upgrades. Can someone pease help me?

    • 'Ark Storage' has to be on in both of the games. You can set the Ark Storage on in the Game Settings menu, before you start a new continuous game.

    • Ahh thank you now i know what my problem is. The scenario mission has preset settings. I can't change them. Guess Ark Storage is turned off. Well I'll just have to do my first continuous game without a starting help. Thank you anyways.

    • You are completely right. In neither the campaign, scenario's, bonus missions or world events is the Ark Storage tuned on. Have fun with your first continuous game!

  • with the difficulty of attaining Ark upgrades on rare items, you should be able to carry your ark with any equipment you've saved in it. the one true thing you carry from map to map and it's cleaned out every time. i just find that annoying :S

    • Finishing quests coming from Seamus Green and Skylar Banes often rewards you with very rare items. Usually, the last tier of the researchable items.

  • how do i change my ark model?

    • You can change your ark model after reaching the last (10th) career rank of a fraction. Earn a lot of Career Points and you should be able to change your ark model. See your Profile > Career Progression

Succesfully completing the Mission_Four:_Zero_Hour also let's you change your ark model to F.A.T.H.E.R.'s one

    • I compleated zero hour , but I cant change the ark model. help!

    • Go to your profile ( upper left of the home screen, on your avatar ) -> "Ark configuration" -> "Available Arks" and then choose the ark model you want. You have to be connected online to be able to do so.

  • Hi,I've got 900 point for global trsut..maybe i am wrong..should i not got 4x4 upgrades with bonus "Senior Controller..i can only see i got more cargo with 60 tons in warehouse. but not witt 4x4 "upgrades" in ark. is that a bug or not?

  • Hey, I have ark upgrades stored in my Ark. How do I go about "activating" them. From the UI I can see, only Ark storage and the little buttons for shipping requests (building blocks, tools, and ammo) are available. I don't see any "in use" sockets, like on military ships. Is there some little tab I'm missing (like that "deny ascension rights" button that took me FOR EVER to find on the city centers)?

Also, this is a default-settings continuous game and I DO have a solid internet connection.

    • tabs it is - look just below the items - the second tab should spell UPDATES (or something like that) - click on the empty slots to activate items already place on the first tab (click on the bottom row for 1 star items, ...)

    • Thanks for the swift reply DeathApril! I'm new to Anno games and absolutely love this thing. My only gripe is that a few little details aren't immediately obvious or spelled out in-game. For instance, the ratio of fully-functioning buildings in a supply chain needed for no accumulation of intermediates should clearly be spelled out in the building selection tree. If I didn't have this wiki, I would have no idea (for instance) that TWO fruit farms and ONE dairy farm supply ONE smoothie factory. Sure, fertility and transport play a factor, but putting an approximate building ratio on the tool-tips would be simple.

  • Wait, why is a slideshow a bad thing that needs to be cleaned up? Unless someone gives me a better alternative than that slideshow (slideshows are used extensively on many wikis), I will take down the clean-up tag and improve the text part as well.

    • This is why I hate comments. No way to archive this discussion or stick it somewhere for later reference. Once it gets buried, can't be found again without drudgery. *sighs*

From Guidelines: "We would prefer to avoid slideshow galleries." If you disagree with the policy, discuss there.

  • I disagree. I think that it looks nice with a slideshow.

  • If you have a different model of Ark, does it have a different set of upgrades and items loaded into it than other modles, or is the model purely cosmetic? I ask because if they do have seperate inventories, I could have one Ark for Eco and one for Tycoon.

  • So how do i carry over upgrade/items in my ark? Finished the Ascesion scenario, and now im doing Monument one. But things i have mounted on my ark didint carry over. Is it only for continous game?

    • You can only do that with any game that has the setting "Goods Transfer" (or something like that, look at continuous game settings) set to on. By default, all scenarios do not allow this (meaning goods cannot be moved out of the game, nor into it).

  • How do you change which model your ark is?

    • They need to be unlocked via (the mildly convoluted) "Career Progression" which requires a UPlay account, except for the Father model, which is unlocked by completing the single-player campaign.

    • I saw a movie at youtube of some one ho has the father ark. How do i unlock it? I have completed the campaign but i don't see any options of where i can upgrade/change the ark type?!

  • I can't load upgrades into the damn Ark. They just won't load into it.

  • How much storage space does a Ark have exactly?

  • They do transfer between games, although I'm not exactly sure how it works. I just know that sometimes when I start a game my arc will have upgrades from a previous game in it.

    • items added on continous game only go with you on other continous games etc.. as far as i know

  • How can the upgrades of the ark used in a different game? So far the upgrades installed and the storage cannot be brought to another game.

  • That A.R.K. looks like a sort of spacebase.
